Michael L. Campbell, M.D. was raised in Columbia, South Carolina. He obtained his undergraduate education at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. In 1992, he earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Campbell then trained in the orthopaedic residency program at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, finishing in 1997. Following residency, he served as an orthopaedic surgeon in the military for four years. He was based at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. In October 2001, Dr. Campbell joined Maryville Orthopaedic Clinic.
He and his wife, Mary Lou, reside in Maryville. They have two children, a son and a daughter. Some of his personal interests include running, biking, hiking and traveling.
